Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Although it is a small country (about 700km long and 350km wide) it has three different climates: Maritime – characterised by constant rain originating a region with luxuriant vegetation; Continental – characterised by cold nights and warm and dry days: and finally Mediterranean – characterised as mild with short thermal amplitudes. This creates a variegated morphology, originating several micro-climates and different landscapes within a small space.
